Fitness and Habitat

I’m going to kill two birds with one stone. There are two charitable organizations that I love and support: the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. Blood and homes– what could be more basic than that?

I already give blood every 57 days, and I’m a registered and trained Red Cross volunteer, but Habitat for Humanity has not gotten much attention from me. I want to change this.

Add to that the fact that I need to do some regular exercise and I like Jumping Jacks, and I’ve had an idea. There’s this really neat Marine doing 1 million push-ups for Wounded Warriors, and he inspired this idea.

I, and my family, are going to do 1 million jumping jacks for Habitat for Humanity. We have a few goals for this project: 1) Get me fit. 2) Raise awareness of and money for Habitat for Humanity. 3) Have lots of silly fun.

You can go here to donate to them. You can see cool videos of us getting started on my YouTube channel here.

If you look to the column on the right, you will see the progress bar for this endeavor. I will update it daily!

Pass this along or keep living a miserable, happiness-sucking, flower-crushing, unicorn-hating existence.

Here’s the first video of our project kick-off:
